Basically it contains all those old versions of software which you threw out to upgrade, not realising that you'd also invited 423 spyware programs along with them ;-)
Some older versions just work better than newer ones. Anyone using IsoDraw 5 for batch conversion will know what I'm on about for instance, or Wise Installer version 9 for that matter, "The software could not find the file, please rename and try again", except for some reason version 9 doesn't tell you *which* file it can't find, so you have to manually go through *every sodding custom dialog* and track it down.
